ORLANDO, Fla. (May 30, 2006) – Marriott Golf, the world’s largest resort golf management company, today announced that Nick Enders has been named the Head Golf Professional at Shadow Ridge Golf Club, the first Nick Faldo-designed golf course in the United States, located in Palm Desert, California. In his new position, Enders will be responsible for managing retail merchandising, outings and tournaments, and overall golf shop operations.
A member of the Marriott Golf team for the past four years, Enders comes to Shadow Ridge from Wildfire Golf Club at JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa in Phoenix, AZ, where he served as Tournament Coordinator. His primary responsibilities there were to manage tournament events, which exceeded 13,000 rounds annually, but he also played a significant role in helping Wildfire Golf Club earn the coveted "Marriott Golf Property of the Year" award for 2004.
A graduate of Ferris State University and a Class A Member of the PGA of America, Enders began his professional career in the golf industry at Wildfire, after having spent time as Assistant Golf Professional at various locations including McCormick Woods Golf Club in Port Orchard, WA, and Desert Willow Golf Resort in Palm Desert, CA.
