PACOIMA, Calif. (May 31. 2006) — Delivering distance and accuracy, high-performance graphite shafts by Harrison Sports took top honors this weekend by delivering a 5-under 65 on Sunday and a three-stroke victory at the FedEx St. Jude Classic at TPC Southwind. This year’s FedEx St. Jude champion — a 20-year PGA Tour veteran — played the Harrison Pro 2.5 in his driver and a Harrison Pro 1.8 in his 3-wood to score his first victory of the year.
"Many pros have trusted the Pro 2.5 shaft to provide increased distance and greater accuracy, and we’re proud to provide the consistency and performance they need to compete and to win," says Mike Cheng, president of Harrison Sports. "The Harrison Pro series is composed of the industry’s finest graphite materials and has delivered numerous victories on the PGA and Long Drive Tours with constant swing power and unmatched performance."
Featuring one of the lowest overall torques in Harrison’s line of high-performance shafts, the Pro 2.5 series is well known among PGA professionals for providing superior distance and accuracy. The Pro 2.5 has been used to score more than 200 Top 10s on the PGA Tour, seven World Long Drive championships wins, and was also recently used by Rory Sabbatini to win the 2006 Nissan Open. The shaft is composed of the finest graphite materials, which provides players with a durable, premium product that features constant swing power and unmatched performance. The Harrison Pro 2.5 series shafts are composed of boron reinforced X-6200 graphite and feature mid- to high flex points and 2.5 degrees of torque. Harrison Pro 2.5 shafts are available in weight options from 50 grams to 95 grams with flexes ranging from L/A to S/X.
"The Pro 2.5 is a logical contrast to some of the stiff tip shaft designs on the market currently," adds Cheng. "The Pro 2.5’s high-performance construction is fused with a mid tip stiffness that makes it easier for the golfer to get the ball air borne. It’s an ideal shaft for golfers seeking a high degree of accuracy and playability, and it is ideally suited for the 460cc driver heads that are so popular today."
