Released April 1st the PROsPECT has already chalked up one professional win. Demand is creating some nice headaches for FLGolf sales and distribution staff. FLGolf spokesman Glen Coombe said, "We may have a tiger by the tail. In the Carolinas we are the lowest price ultra-premium golf ball. Without breaking thirty dollars at retail Volvik is offering golfers of all abilities the opportunity to experience the state of the art in golf ball performance, in a retail urethane ball market that is high thirties to almost fifty dollars a dozen. Today I spoke to Steve Childree of US Golf Bluffton (Hilton Head SC.) Steve is the General Manager of the store and happened to get some early samples of the PROsPECT ball." He said, "I’m seeing twenty yards longer off my driver! I went from 255 yard tee shots to 275 yards, and I’ve picked up a full club with my irons! We sell a lot of the ball I’ve just quit playing so I’d rather not say that name. But I am ordering more PROsPECT balls today and will be recommending them strongly to my customers."
Gilliam went on to say, "If demand keeps growing at the present rate we may be forced into a temproary allotment program until we’re able to catch up at the factory. We didn’t anticipate such a successful launch of this new product. The demand seems to prove to me that our retailers are with us when it comes to high technology premium golf balls. The Crystal ball still leads our distribution output but the new three piece balls are gaining ground fast."
