SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (June 5, 2006) – With the U.S. Open just around the corner, Pima Direct announced that it will be providing private label apparel for the next four U.S. Open venues.

Known for their "Factory Direct" business model, Pima Direct was chosen along side other major branded apparel companies. Their private label program, which gives accounts the ability to put customized neck labels and hang tags on the products, is one of Pima Direct’s strengths.

"We are proud to be providing the private label apparel for the next four U.S. Open venues," said Bill Sabayrac, Pima Direct Managing Partner. "More than 50 percent of our customers choose private labeling which allows for great differentiation of product in their stores and great value to their customers. It has been the key to successful merchandising for major stores for many years … it’s very profitable and is slowly catching on in the golf industry. The end result is that the golf professional or retailer has the opportunity to provide customers great value with high quality apparel while realizing a profit margin of 65 percent, close to twice the industry standard."

After the champion has been crowned at Winged Foot, U.S. Open fans will start thinking about next year’s Open at the Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa.

"We have recently chosen Pima Direct to be our private label supplier for the 2007 United States Open," said Bob Ford, Director of Golf and Head Golf professional at the Oakmont Country Club. "The initial deliveries have arrived and we are very pleased. I believe the quality/value relationship to be excellent and to date the customer service has been exceptional. I believe we found a winner!"

In 2008, the U.S. Open will move to Torrey Pines on the West Coast in San Diego, Calif.

"I am impressed with the quality of Pima Direct’s products and I feel they are an excellent value for the customer," said Susan Casagranda, Retail Manager at Torrey Pines. "Pima Direct products have sold extremely well here. The private label program gives us the opportunity to provide our customers with high quality apparel at a very reasonable price while still achieving a considerable profit margin."

Both buyers and customers agree that quality of the products at affordable prices is what sets Pima Direct apart from their competitors. Pima Direct uses Supima cotton, grown in the United States, to make their shirts. Supima is considered to be one of the finest cottons in the world based on its extra long staple length which gives you wonderful hand feel, brightness of color and durability.
