PACOIMA, Calif. (June 5, 2006) — Players on the Champions Tour are among the most experienced golfers in the world, and they are demonstrating an increasing preference for Harrison graphite shafts. Not only were Harrison shafts among the top shaft brands represented at the Allianz Championship, but Harrison graphite shafts grabbed two Top 10 money positions, including fourth-place.
"This was a great week on the Champions Tour for Harrison. Our fourth-place finisher this week has been using our new Impulse Hybrid Fairway shaft in his Adams hybrid 18 degree since the FedEx Kinkos Championship. He has given us great feedback and he loves the shaft," says Cory Roberts, Champions Tour representative for Harrison. "This week’s other Top 10 money winner has periodically played a Harrison Striper Tour shaft in his 3-wood since last year and has put the shaft in play for the last six tournaments after we worked at the Legends. This week he used that club a lot on the great tight fairways at Glen Oaks Country Club to finish in a tie for 10th."
Harrison’s new Impulse Hybrid shaft is a unique design that incorporates a patent-pending Inlay Titanium Matrix, a thin layer of titanium wrapped around the shaft’s tip section to increase stability, reduce shaft torque and to dramatically improve accuracy. Typically, hybrid-design clubs must withstand greater stress at impact due to turf contact, so enhanced stability is a critical design factor for the shaft to resist distortion upon impact. The Impulse shaft also possesses a lower balance point and produces a higher launch angle to more easily get the ball airborne. Impulse shafts are available as a fairway wood or utility iron.
In other tournament news, Harrison graphite shafts also delivered a Top 10 finish and put more than dozen shafts in play at the Memorial Tournament on the PGA Tour.
