(June 6, 2006) – More PGA Tour professionals chose Nickent hybrids over all other hybrids on the PGA and Nationwide Tours this week. Nickent accounted for 31% of all hybrids put into play on the two tours, while the next closest manufacturer had only 24%. The number three ranking manufacturer had 15% of the hybrids in play. Eight other companies combined for the remaining 30%.
"We think that these are the tours to look at to see what is really going on in the hybrid market," said Nickent Director of Marketing Jon Claffey. "They are more competitive in terms of how many manufacturers are trying to get hybrids in play, and how many new players are looking to try a hybrid. There are only a couple of manufacturers pushing clubs on the Champions Tour, so the best place to look for an even-level playing field is the Nationwide Tour. There has been a "hybrid war" taking place out there over the last couple of months and we have been very fortunate to come out on top."
Fifty Nickent 3DX hybrids were put into play at the Rex Hospital Open on the Nationwide Tour, breaking the record number of hybrids ever put into play in a Nationwide Tour event. The previous record of 45 hybrids was set by Nickent just two weeks ago at the Rheem Classic in Arkansas.
"The number 50 is an incredible number when you are talking about golf clubs in play on the PGA Tour," said Director of Tour Operations Josh Trivett. "Last week at the St. Jude Classic in Memphis, only one company actually had more than 50 drivers in play. We are very proud to join the very short list of companies who have accomplished 50 golf clubs in play in a single event."
It’s just one more attribute Nickent Gof can add to their long list of accomplishments on the 2006 PGA Tours.
