ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL – Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, NY, will host the 17th Annual ING Spring Conference June 3-7, 2007. Located just 30 minutes east of Syracuse, Turning Stone will welcome an expected 225 golf media and industry leaders to its beautiful resort in the peaceful surroundings of upstate New York.
The International Network Of Golf is a 16-year-old non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance and promote communication and education in golf. The most recent conference was just completed in the Pinehurst, NC, area.
Karen Rogowski, Sales Manager at Turning Stone, is excited at the prospects of hosting this unique blend of media and business owners and managers from all aspects of the golf industry.
"We realize that ING has set extremely high standards for host sites and we’re confident that Turning Stone will not only meet, but exceed, those standards," said Rogowski. "Our extraordinary facilities and level of service will make for a perfect setting for the 2007 Spring Conference."
ING Executive Director Mike Jamison realized that Turning Stone provided the ideal venue for ING the first time he visited.
"I was so very impressed with the resort," said Jamison. "It is convenient to get to. There is world-class golf with Tom Fazio, Rick Smith and Robert Trent Jones Jr. The accommodations are outstanding – a lodge that defines luxury, and rooms in the casino tower that are very appealing. The conference facility is just great and the setting, while action-packed, has a peaceful aura.
"The icing, however, was the service. These folks at Turning Stone know exactly what it means to stand out in the hospitality industry. I know our attendees are going to be impressed with Turning Stone."
Turning Stone Resort and Casino, an enterprise of the Oneida Indian Nation, has evolved into a premier four-season destination resort featuring golf, round-the-clock gaming, fine dining and live entertainment.
In addition to its three championship courses — designed by Fazio, Smith and Jones — the resort’s golf options include a par three course, also designed by Smith, and a nine-hole regulation-length course. Turning Stone also offers an indoor golf training facility housing 40 hitting stations, two putting surfaces, bunkers and two golf simulators. Turning Stone’s renowned Golf Academy is staffed by PGA teaching professionals offering individualized or group lessons.
The resort’s extensive menu of amenities includes 19 restaurants, more than 700 hotel rooms and suites, spa and salon, fitness facilities, an 800-seat Showroom, 5,000-seat Event Center, Business Center, and Conference Center offering several room configurations to easily accommodate any size gathering.
The ING Conference was held at The National Golf Club and the Country Club of Whispering Pines in the Pinehurst, NC, area last month. It attracted several of the major golf associations, dozens of leading golf-related companies and approximately seven dozen golf media from across North America.
The very popular ING One-On-One Appointment Show will return for a fourth year. The appointment show provides attendees a platform for private meetings to encourage business relationships. Also on the diverse ING itinerary will be workshops, speakers, the Demo Lab, the Small Groups Topics Breakfast and the ING Media Awards banquet and fashion show.
ING has two events planned for later summer, 2006 – the ING World Game Celebration of Golf Aug. 27-30 in Myrtle Beach, and the 5th Annual ING Fall Media Forum in Las Vegas Sept. 10-13. Also, the 2nd ING Mid-Atlantic Regional Seminar is set for Atlantic City Oct. 25-26.
