In real world testing the Volvik Crystal golf ball seems to be the clear leader not only in customer preference but also in performance. The time tested Volvik Crystal ball was recently tested in a golf simulator against Maxfli Noodle Ice by Volvik sales representative Craig Raguse. Raguse covers Oklahoma, S. Kansas and Arkansas.
To assure an unbiased reading the test was done without the simulator operators’ knowledge. Raguse, a talented golfer with a scratch handicap responded to comments by a retail salesperson regarding the perceived performance levels of Volvik Crystal vs. Noodle Ice.
Raguse hit the Noodle Ice repeatedly to a distance averaging 253 yards with a supplied driver. He next hit multiple Volvik Crystal balls to an average of 275 yards. Raguse concluded his testing with two shots from the new Crystal Pro 3 piece that registered 278 yards.
Raguse said, "This kind of happened after a retail sales person commented that the other ball was superior to the Crystal. I knew this to be incorrect but felt it had to be demonstrated. The guys didn’t know that I was the Volvik sales rep or perhaps their original tune might have been different."
Volvik spokesman Glen Coombe said, "Volvik woke up the sleeping giants of the US golf ball industry with the Crystal golf ball. After reaching landmark market share last year it seems every manufacturer took aim at the Crystal golf ball market. These imitators have breathed new life into the market segment now referred to as Crystal. However it seems few of the numerous imitators have put their money into the golf ball core as does Volvik. Volvik, the R & D think tank for golf ball technology, has sold high quality golf ball cores to other ball manufacturers for over ten years. As a developer and manufacturer of cutting edge technology Volvik is able to provide golfers with a higher performance product through their patented core technology. Manufacturers burdened by high advertising and or distribution costs can not, or will not, devote the higher cost required to install similar cores to the Volvik product line. It would seem that the imitators are pursuing color and cover. Volvik built their market share on performance. I tell folks ‘you can only sell appearance once’ and that our fans love the feel and distance of the Volvik Crystal."
Coombe went on to say, "Our existing customer base is very loyal having demonstrated so in their response to some of the sales tactics of our imitators. One major retailer influenced by a bargain imitator is even quoted as saying that Volvik was out of business! To paraphrase Mark Twain, Reports of our demise are greatly exaggerated! "
The originator and innovative Volvik Crystal golf ball is a two piece 70 compression construction golf ball. It’s soft surlyn translucent cover changed the face of golf balls when it was launched almost four years ago. Golfers of at all levels who have slower swing speeds have become fans of the performance and feel of the Crystal ball.
Volvik Crystal balls are available in white as well as nine colors ranging from flash yellow to the new salmon or cream.
Volvik Golf Balls ask, "Innovator or imitator? The choice is clear, CRYSTAL clear!"
