TAMPA, Fla. – Grande Pines Golf Club in Orlando will host the Florida State Public Links Championship on July 21-23 with entries closing this month June 28.
The Public Links Championship is open to bona fide public course players who are not members of a private club and also do not have a handicap index no higher than 6.4. Competitors play 18 holes of stroke play on each of the three days with the field flighted after 36 holes.

NOW ACCEPTING ENTRIES FOR PARENT-CHILD CHAMPIONSHIP
TAMPA, Fla. – The Florida State Parent-Child Championship will return to the Walt Disney World Resort on July 29-30 with entries closing July 5. Register now at www.fsga.org for fun for the entire family!
The Parent-Child Championship is the largest Florida State Golf Association administered event. Since 1997, the Walt Disney World Resort has hosted the Parent-Child Championship. The Parent-Child Championship has become an annual event for many families. The tournament is open to everyone, including grandparents who want to play with a grandchild and professionals who want to compete with their child or grandchild. There is no maximum age limitation for the parent or child. The event consists of two divisions; junior and regular. In the junior division, the child must be between 6-12 years of age, and in the regular division the child must be 13 or older.
The junior division will play the Oak Trail executive course in 9 holes of modified alternate shot format using the Stableford scoring each day. The regular division is split on Disney’s Palm and Magnolia courses and will play 36 holes of modified alternate shot. The field is divided based upon the combined handicaps of the teams and will be flighted after 18 holes.

STATE MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE HELD ON AUGUST 10-13
TAMPA, Fla. – The Florida State Match Play Championship will take place at the Country Club of Ocala on August 10-13. Entries close July 12 for this match play competition.
The Match Play Championship will take a field of 96 players to make up five flights. All players are guaranteed an 18-hole seeding round and at least one round of match play. After the seeding round, the field will be broken into a Championship flight of 32 players and four additional flights of 16 players. A winner will be decided in each of the five flights.
All non-exempt competitors play an 18-hole stroke play seeding round on Thursday to determine their flights. Players earn exempt status by one of three categories, 2005 Mid-Amateur Champion, 2006 State Amateur Champion or 2005 Match Play Semifinalists. All five flights begin the match play competition on Friday with the Championship flight also playing in the afternoon. All flights will play two matches on Saturday with the finals on Sunday morning.

STATE MID-SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP CLOSES IN JULY
TAMPA, Fla. – Bonita Bay East in Naples will host the Florida State Mid-Senior Championship on August 18-20 with entries closing July 19.
To be eligible for the Mid-Senior Championship, players must be 40 years of age or older. The Championship consists of 54 holes of stroke play cut to the low 70 plus ties after 36 holes. Players will compete on both the Bonita Bay East’s Cypress Course and the South course at Mediterra.
