Far Hills, N.J. – Ticket applications are now being accepted by the United States Golf Association (USGA) for the 2007 U.S. Open Championship to be held June 11-17 at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa. The deadline for submitting ticket applications is 5 p.m. (EDT) on Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006. At the end of August, a random drawing will be conducted from among the applications received by the deadline and written notification will be mailed in Sept. 2006.
Ticket applications are available online at www.usga.org/championships/get_tickets or by calling the USGA at (800) 698-0661 for a printed ticket application. A Trophy Club package for the week is $550. Weekly grounds packages are $375. Daily tickets are $35 for the practice rounds (Monday-Wednesday) and $95 for the championship days (Thursday-Sunday) A Practice Round ticket package is also available at $70. Tickets are limited.
The U.S. Open tickets have sold out for the past 20 years and undoubtedly will sell out again for 2007.
The U.S. Open has been held at Oakmont seven times previously, most recently in 1994. The 2003 U.S. Amateur was held at Oakmont and in 1938 and 1969. The 1992 U.S. Women’s Open was also played there.
The U.S. Open is one of 13 national championships conducted annually by the USGA, 10 of which are strictly for amateurs.
