ATLANTA, GA (June 23, 2006) – The inaugural U.S. Kids Golf Teen World Championship will be held Aug. 2-4 at the Tiburon Golf Club and Twin Eagles Country Club in Naples, Fla.
This is the first event that U.S. Kids Golf has conducted aimed at players older than 12. "Players who have advanced beyond our traditional age limit for U.S. Kids Golf events have limited opportunities to compete in world-caliber events," said Dan Van Horn, founder and president of U.S. Kids Golf. "This tournament provides that opportunity in a setting that families also will enjoy."
The 54-hole stroke play event is open to boys and girls who are members of the 2010 and 2011 high school graduating classes.
Players can learn more about the tournament by going to www.uskidsgolf.com and clicking on Tournaments. Entry fee is $250 per player.
The Ritz-Carlton Naples is the host hotel and is offering tournament rates at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort and the Ritz-Carlton Beach Resort.
U.S. Kids Golf also conducts the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship, which this year is expected to attract approximately 850 kids between 4 and 12 years of age from throughout the U.S. and some 30 countries to Pinehurst, N.C. The U.S. Kids Golf World Championship is the world’s largest tournament for kids 4 to 12.
