Wi-Fi Enabled System Creates Wireless Hot Spot For Community
Vancouver, Canada – GPS Industries Inc. (GPSI)
The historic Ohio golf course was originally built as a 9-hole facility in 1916, which was redesigned and expanded to its current 18-hole configuration in the 1940’s by legendary architect Jack Kidwell. The course was recently taken over by new management, who were looking to improve both service and value for their players.
Says Norm Murray, Managing Partner of the club: "We just took over this winter and we were looking for something we could offer our members and guests that is unique for our market. Naturally we researched what was available and the Inforemer really impressed us. The steering column mounting position is unique and makes the big display screen easy to see and use. Plus the outstanding quality of the full-color screen is far superior to anything else we saw from the other vendors."
In addition to providing golfers with vivid depictions of each hole and precise GPS distance measurement, the Wi-Fi enabled INFOREMERï?¤ system will also blanket the surrounding residences with high-speed wireless internet access.
"Our patented technology is uniquely equipped to create wireless hot spots out of golf resorts and communities." Says GPSI CEO Bob Silzer. "Because our system utilizes a Wi-Fi infrastructure it is easy for clubs like Fostoria to add the amenity of wireless internet access to their guests and generate significant revenue in the process. Extending that coverage to the neighboring community just multiplies the income potential."
