June 24th 2006 was a significant date for Team Volvik represented by FLGolf, Inc. their exclusive USA distributor. Team Volvik consisted of President Chuck Womer, Operations Manger John Gilliam, PGA as well as Clinton Dobson and Don Carter.
Volvik / FLGolf, Inc., was the presenting sponsor for the Dixie Youth Baseball Fundraiser Golf Tournament held at Shady Brook Golf & RV Resort in Sumterville, Florida.
The unique Captains Choice ( four person scramble ) was a one ball event. The ball was the new PROsPECT 3 piece z-urethane cover ultra-premium golf ball from Volvik. All 80 players used the new PROsPECT and came back with significant feedback on the positive side. Players commented on the soft feel of the seventy compression ball as well as the green holding ability and feel off the putter.
Team Volvik placed third in the event with a net score of 63. Their prize was handed down to the fourth place team in a show of sportsmanship at the conclusion of play.
Operations Manager John Gilliam won the closest to the pin contest with a two foot six inch dart from 155 yards.
Refreshments followed the event and talk was of a bigger and better tournament for next year.
