Entries Open For Georgia Senior Championship
MARIETTA, Ga. – Entries are now being accepted for the 20th annual Georgia Senior Championship, which takes place August 29-31 at Cherokee Town and Country Club in Atlanta. This event is open to male amateur golfers age 55 and above as of August 29, who are GSGA members and Georgia residents.
The format of the event is 54 holes of stroke play over three days. Last year, Alpharetta’s Spencer Sappington posted a two-under-par 214 to capture his record-setting, third-consecutive victory at the Georgia Senior Championship. Sappington posted a 76 in the first round but followed that with rounds of 68 and 70 to win by one stroke over three-time champion Bill Ploeger of Columbus.
Qualified players may enter online at the GSGA website (www.gsga.org) by clicking the Online Registration quick link. Paper entries are available by request and may also be downloaded as a PDF file via the GSGA website. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, August 9 at 5:00 p.m.
The entry period is also currently open for the GSGA Senior Women’s Championship (through July 26).
