SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS — Long Drivers of America (LDA) announced today that the widely popular Zero Friction Tees, manufactured by Excel Golf Tee, Inc., for a second consecutive year will be the official tee at the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship.
Competitors in the RE/MAX WLDC, which is managed and produced by Southlake-based LDA, will be permitted to use a variety of Zero Friction Tees up to a maximum of 4".
The sponsorship includes teebox signage for Zero Friction Tees at the RE/MAX world finals, which take place at the Palms Golf Club in Mesquite, Nevada on Oct. 24-28.
Complete details on the championship are available at www.longdrivers.com.
Zero Friction Tees, preferred by many PGA Tour players, are made of biodegradable material. They offer less resistance at impact between the golf ball and the tee, which equates to more distance.
Noted Mike Herron, business development manager for Excel Golf Tee, Inc. "In addition to facilitating driving distance, Zero Friction Tees substantially lower spin rates at impact. That factor gives golfers more control with their drives."
Excel Golf Tee, Inc. is based in Itasca, Ill. More information on its high-performance line of tees is available at www.zerofrictiontees.com.
"We welcome back Zero Friction Tees as an LDA partner," said Art Sellinger, chief executive officer. "Zero Friction Tees have quickly become the tee of choice among long drive professionals. The performance features of these tees are incomparable."
