Falls Church, VA, June 20, 2006 – The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority (NVRPA) added eight SPS GMS Point-of-Sale (POS) systems to their facilities at Bull Run Regional Park Swimming Pool and Campground, Carlyle House Historic Park, Fountainhead Regional Park and Marina, Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, Pohick Bay Regional Park Swimming Pool and Campground, Temple Hall Farm Regional Park, and the NVRPA Headquarters.
Rodney Pryor, the Park Operations Superintendent at NVRPA said, "NVRPA started using the SPS GMS Point-of-Sale system about five years ago. It didn’t take long for us to see the advantages of using this system throughout our 21 park sites. Not only did it work for our golf courses, but its ease of operation and reliability made it a likely candidate for our waterparks, swimming pools, visitor centers, campgrounds, and museums. Basically, anywhere that financial transactions take place and records are kept."
NVRPA particularly likes the fact that they are able to have access to all of their facilities through the Internet, which means eliminating the need for expensive onsite servers and substantially reducing the need for IT staff. "Being Web-based saved NVRPA the networking cost of a huge database system, and with SPS GMS consistently upgrading the software, it keeps us current with new programs and technology. We rely heavily on the SPS GMS system for information statistics including financial and user trends. With just a click of the mouse, all of our facilities are readily equipped for data mining by the NVRPA Management Team," stated Pryor.
SPS GMS also helped install a Membership Card program for all NVRPA golf courses and facilities, totaling 15 systems.
