Three wins on three continents!
CARLSBAD, CA (July 2, 2006) – Following up a second-place finish at the U.S. Open at Winged Foot two weeks ago, Sonartec tour players won on three different tours this past weekend. The Buick Championship was won by a Connecticut native using a prototype Sonartec fairway wood, marking the 16th different model used to win a PGA Tour event. The victory clinched the winner’s spot in the British Open and moved him from 26th to 6th in Ryder Cup points. The French Open was won by a British European Tour player using the Sonartec Md Hybrid. The one shot victory over the 2005 U.S. Open champion notched his second victory with a Sonartec club in his bag. Sonartec’s third win was in Japan at the prestigious Japan Tour Championship, one of the four majors on the Japan PGA Tour. Sonartec also recorded a third-place finish this weekend at the U.S. Women’s Open at the Newport Country Club in Rhode Island.
"The company is very proud to have these fine players continue to win with our products," said Toru Kamatari, Sonartec President. "It is very humbling to know that players throughout the world rely on our equipment week in and week out to win tournaments," noted Kamatari. "As a small company we could never afford to pay endorsement money. We feel the best endorsement is that they play Sonartec because their livelihood depends on it".
