Two Tournaments Saw Spiked Numbers for Industry Leader
Marlborough, MA -July 6, 2006-In two recent tournaments, the LPGA’s US Women’s Open and the Open De France on the European PGA Tour, CHAMP Spikes were the overpowering spike on both greens, illustrating CHAMP’s continued dominance on several tours.
At the US Women’s Open CHAMP Spikes were worn by 7 of the top 10 lady finishers and 9 of the top 15. Overall, out of 156 total US Open participants, 102 sported CHAMP Spikes. On the LPGA, around 80% of the players count on CHAMP Spikes, most notably the Lady Scorpion STINGERâ?¢, with the patented wear indicator that shows the user when its time to change spikes and with twice the durability of its closest competitor.
CHAMP Spikes also made its mark on the Open de France as 107 of the 156 competitors wore either CHAMP’s Metal Cermec® Spikes or the CHAMP ProStingerâ?¢, the only hybrid spike on tour. The winner of the US Open at Winged Foot also wore the ProStingerâ?¢, showing its diverse ability to be worn on the challenging European courses and on one of the most treacherous American courses in recent memory. Over half of the participants in the Open de France sported the ProStingerâ?¢.
CHAMP is the number one brand worldwide as over half of the players on the PGA Tour and 32 of the world’s top 50 players wear CHAMP Spikes and CHAMP celebrates its success in conjunction with its 75th anniversary.
