Signs With SFX

Reston, VA (July 10, 2006) – Eighteen-year-old Australian golf prodigy Jason Day turned professional, and will make his first start as a pro at the 2006 John Deere Classic next week at the TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. SFX Golf, with whom Day has signed a multi-year representation agreement, will exclusively manage all aspects of his business affairs.

Day is widely regarded as one of the best players ever to come out of the talent-rich Australian golf program. He was Medalist at the prestigious 2006 Australian Amateur and Queensland Amateurs and has been a mainstay on the elite Australian National Teams that have dominated recent international competitions. As a teenager, he broke Jack Nicklaus’ 34-year-old course record 64 at Royal Hobart. Day will be playing a global schedule that will include sponsors exemptions in up to seven PGA Tour events during the remainder of the 2006 season. In addition to the John Deere, Day is confirmed for the B.C. Open (July 20-23), the US Bank Championship (July 27-30), The International (August 10-13) and the Reno Tahoe Open (August 24-27).

Day has signed a multi-year agreement with TaylorMade-adidas Golf. As part of the agreement, Day will play TaylorMade golf clubs and golf balls, plus wear adidas Golf apparel and footwear while competing.

"We’re thrilled to have cemented a relationship with such an exciting and talented young player as Jason," said Mark King, President and CEO of TaylorMade-adidas Golf Company. "At 18, he has as much ability and potential as any golfer I’ve every met. The sky’s the limit for this young man, and we’re looking forward to supporting his efforts to getting all the way to No. 1 in the world."

"I’m quite appreciative of all the support I have received during this exciting transition in my life," said Jason Day. "I’m enthusiastic about competing against the best players in the world. It has always been a goal of mine to play on the PGA Tour. I look forward to the challenge."
