The University of South Carolina women’s team has once again been honored as the recipient of the 2005-2006 NGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award. This award recognizes the women’s collegiate golf program with the highest collective average team grade point average. … Toll Brothers announces the start of pre-construction sales at its newest golf community, Jupiter Country Club in Jupiter, Fla., which will feature an 18-hole Greg Norman signature course. … Brittany Lincicome won the HSBC Women’s World Match Play Championship and qualified for her first trip to the ADT Championship, Nov. 16-19 in West Palm Beach, Fla. … Sonartec reports that the winner and runner-up at the HSBC Women’s World Match Play wore its Trion:Z bracelet. … Course architect Bill Bergin announces renovation projects for the Country Club of Sapphire Valley in Cashiers, N.C.; the Wildcat Cliffs in Highlands, N.C.; and Sky Valley Golf Resort in Sky Valley, Ga. … The Golf Channel reports it will introduce its newest addition to its broadcast team and main analyst for its 2007 PGA Tour coverage today. … Mario Lemieux has been named recipient of the Brodie Award, recognizing an individual’s accomplishments in both a chosen profession and in the sport of golf. The award is named for former NFL Most Valuable Player John Brodie, the one-time San Francisco 49ers quarterback and Senior PGA Tour player. The event is given each year by organizers of the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe, Nev. … The Golf Channel will air a 30-minute retrospective of Jack Nicklaus‘ career set against the backdrop of his final majors appearance in an original documentary titled "A Champions Farewell," scheduled to appear Tuesday, July 18, at 9 p.m. ET. … England’s Simon Khan has qualified for the 2006 HSBC World Match Play Championship, Sept. 14-17, by finishing second on the final HSBC European Tournaments Ranking. … Raven’s Claw Golf Club in Limerick, Pa., has been nominated for "Best New Public Course of 2006" by Golf Digest.
