First-Of-Its-Kind Instructional System, Featuring Affordable 3D Wireless Motion Analysis and Training Technology, Now Available to PGA/LPGA Professionals, Coaches or Any Golf Enthusiast
Bedford, New Hampshire, July 12, 2006 â?¦ Bentley Kinetics, Inc., a leader in the field of wireless motion analysis, today officially unveiled the K-VESTâ?¢ Product Suite, a first-of its-kind golf instructional system that utilizes wireless sensors to capture motion "four times" faster than a standard video system. The full product suite consists of the K-VESTâ?¢, the K-SYSTEMâ?¢ and K-WEBâ?¢, all components that provide golf professionals and their students with an affordable, state-of-the art, cutting edge instructional technology, enabling instructors to capture and analyze the golf swing motion in 3-D, while providing immediate biofeedback to their students.
Moreover, the K-VEST Product Suite, which has a base retail price of $2,995, is a system that golf professionals can utilize directly at their home teaching facilities. Similar systems have previously been available only through select high-tech golf labs and can cost upwards of $100,000.
Launched in January at the 2006 PGA Merchandise Show, and backed by advanced wireless technology and 16+ years of biomechanical research, K-VEST is revolutionizing the way physical motion is measured and optimum performance achieved. It is now possible for golf professionals to capture physical motion in real time, identify swing faults, and then use the same technology to effortlessly communicate the correct movements to students. Now, through the K-VEST Product Suite, Bentley Kinetics is offering a breadth of affordable products and services that cater to the individual needs of golf instructors.
The K-VEST, which can be used indoors or outdoors, year-round, uses a video camera and 3 wireless sensors strategically placed on the golfer’s hip, shoulder and hand. These sensors communicate with Bentley’s proprietary KINESYNCâ?¢ software on a laptop to display live video and 3-D animation in the collection mode. The instructor simply records a swing, and within seconds, the software generates a complete 3D swing analysis allowing the instructor to quickly identify swing faults. The exercise mode is then used to provide real-time audio/visual feedback to optimize performance improvement.
"K-VEST completely eliminates communication barriers between instructor and student, thereby providing an excellent teaching environment for golfers of all levels," comments Michael Bentley, Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Bentley Kinetics, Inc.
Bentley adds, "Wireless motion analysis training systems with comparable capabilities can cost upwards of $100,000. However, through our K-VEST Product Suite, golf instructors can now obtain this state-of-the-art technology at a fraction of that cost."
K-VEST, which has a suggested retail price of $2,995, features 3 rechargeable lightweight wireless sensors, an ergonomic shoulder garment and hip belt, the KINESYNC swing analysis software and user’s guide, a lightweight carrying case, a complimentary trial K-WEB membership and online product training and customer support. The complete K-SYSTEM, which has a suggested retail price of $5,995, features all of the elements of the K-VEST, as well as a dedicated outdoor viewable laptop computer, DV video camera, computer stand with digital camera mount and lightweight K-SYSTEM carrying case.
K-WEB is a complete online educational solution for those utilizing K-VEST technology, geared toward both golf instructors and students. It allows the instructor to easily upload lessons (voice-over analysis, student’s video, swing data, and exercises) to assigned lockers on the K-WEB. Students can log into their personalized lockers where they can review their personal lessons and drills.
