New M-Pulse Putter Includes Dynamic Sole Technology and Positive Self-Adjusting Lie Angles
GRAND HAVEN, MI (June 27, 2006) – The hard work is paying off for Bernie Pinder, President and CEO of Ontic Golf Group, LLC. And golfers are enjoying the payoff, too.
Pinder, who has dedicated himself to making state-of-the-art putters designed to improve the putting skills and strokes of golfers, is set to introduce the company’s fourth model, the M-Pulse Putter. Sixteen months of research, development and testing have gone into the putter’s development.
"The M-Pulse Putter will feature the most advanced and unequaled design technology ever in a putter," says Pinder, a former scratch golfer and Senior PGA Q-School participant.
The M-Pulse Putter’s benefits begin with Ontic Golf’s patented DST (Dynamic Sole Technology), which is a staple in the entire line of Ontic Golf putters. DST allows golfers to be more consistent in their putting than any other putter on the market. The DST design sets the heel and toe flat to the putting surface, taking full advantage of the custom-fit lie angles so important to precise set-up, accuracy, and roll performance.
The M-Pulse Putter features a down-the-line mass weighting system that puts more than half of the head weight directly behind the ball for consistent center contact, roll, and feel. The down-the-line system and mallet design offers superior visuals for on line putting.
The most advanced engineered feature of the M-Pulse Putter is the "Self-Adjusting Lie Angle", for pure custom fitting, from 80 degrees upright (USGA limit) to 60 degrees flat. The "Positive Lie Angle Locking System" locks your custom fit angle within the full range of angles. The "Positive Lie Angle Locking System" was designed to meet the USGA Conformance requirements.
The putter is "Face Balanced in all Lie Angles." An "Engineering Masterpiece" says Pinder. Face balancing in all lie angles adds balance to the set-up and putting stroke for roll performance and more putts made.
Ontic Golf Putters are CNC Machined to 2.5 degrees of face loft to maximize overspin roll and reduce skid. Research data showed us that 2-3 degrees of loft provided superior and more consistent roll rates and distance control. The variations in golf ball roll performance characteristics was another interesting study.
Custom fitting, in fact, is a key component to Pinder’s development and creation of putters.
"Ontic Golf believes that all clubs, especially putters, should be custom fit to the individual golfer," says Pinder. "Using a custom-fit putter is critical to improving putting performance and lowering your score. As such, all Ontic Putters are designed to be custom fitted. When a putter is ordered, Ontic will send a fitting kit and instructions on how to measure your lie angle and length. The data is e-mailed to Ontic and a custom-fit Tour Blade or Classic style putter will be made and shipped within 48-72 hours."
The M-Pulse Putter, which comes in a platinum pearl finish, is CNC-machine milled from solid 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum. The mass weight alignment bar is machined from solid 360 brass and 303 stainless steel. All adjusting screws are stainless steel.
The first production prototype run of 70 M-Pulse Putters will be offered at $225.00. A custom adjusting tool and head cover are included with free shipping. The putter is available in right and left hand.
The M-Pulse Putter joins the trio of other putters in the Ontic Golf line. The Signature Tour Blade comes with a copper insert, a urethane insert or without an insert and are all CNC machined from carbon steel. MSRP is $165 and is available in right hand only. The Classic Series are CNC machined from solid brass and are available in heel-shafted or center-shafted models. MSRP is $139.
The preciseness of Ontic Putters is a tribute to Pinder’s background. Pinder once owned
a machine shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan that made precision machine parts for the automotive and other industries.
"I have always manufactured products to exacting specifications, which is what I’m doing with Ontic Putters," says Pinder. "Perfection is what we strive for with these putters and we will settle for nothing less. The better golfers feel about our putters, and the results they attain, the better we feel about ourselves and our company."
Ontic Golf has a number of PGA Club Pro’s using their putter, with several serving as part of the company’s advisory staff. Leigh Taylor, PGA Master Professional & Life Member, Philadelphia, Penn., joined the Ontic Advisory Team based on his experience with the putters.
"There are many golf equipment companies advertising their score-reducing clubs, however, I saw several features offered by Ontic Golf Group, LLC that I had not seen with other putter companies," says Taylor. " I love the Ontic Putter — it is the most solid putter I have tried! Buying a putter or any club off the rack is absurd. Your equipment should be customized. Ontic will build your score-reducing putter, and it will work for you!"
All putters are made in the USA and shipped within 48-72 hours of being ordered. Ontic Putters have a 60-day money-back guarantee.
