NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA – July 21, 2006 – KZG, the #1 Custom ProLine, appoints Steve Benzin Director of Education of its Master Certification Program for Professional Fitters.
"Our PGA accredited Program for advanced degrees in Clubfitting covers every aspect of the game, the golfer and the equipment. Rarely do you find an individual who is an expert in all these areas. We are very proud and excited to have Steve Benzin join our staff as our Director of Education, as he fits the bill in all these areas and more," reports Jennifer King, President of KZG.
Steve’s golf career began when he attended college on a golf scholarship at the University of Idaho. He moved on to become an Assistant Professional at several clubs in the Oregon area and touring professional on the mini tours. He took a short hiatus from golf and applied his marketing skills in the retail and restaurant world, opening several Nordstrom stores in Southern California and was heralded as one of the "whiz kids" for his ability to turn around sagging businesses. But golf was still in his blood, and he eventually came back to his real passion.
In 1997, Steve joined Northwoods Golf Company, the premier custom shop in Oregon, as their manager and head clubfitter. As a result of Steve’s hard work, dedication and skill, Northwoods became one of KZG’s top grossing dealers. Steve earned the title of certified Master Clubfitter and has been rated as one of the World’s Top 100 Clubfitters. Steve has worked with numerous touring professionals as an instructor, fitter and clubbuilder.
"Professional Clubfitters are faced with numerous challenges with the advent of launch monitors and computerized fitting systems. A guessing game or a simple static measurement with optional shaft selection will no longer suffice," says Steve.
"The level of sophistication has exploded in the last eight years requiring knowledge of equipment design, interpretation of computerized monitors and fitting systems, consideration of the goals and physical abilities of the golfer, and much, much more to properly select the optimum club specifications for any given golfer. It’s not rocket science, but it does require a commitment on the fitter to study and learn these critical aspects of the profession."
Steve will oversee KZG’s programs for advanced degrees in clubfitting. These programs are open to those in the golf industry who want to hone their skills and excel in their profession. Additionally, Steve will be running the KZG Fitting and Training Center located at KZG headquarters in North Hollywood and spearheading a new traveling fitter program.
With over 2,000 dealers worldwide, KZG is dedicated to raising the bar of Professional Clubfitting to maintain its standing as the #1 Custom ProLine in the industry. KZG offers the highest quality golf equipment and is available only through the finest retail facilities that have Professional Fitters on staff.
