Italian golfer Edoardo Molinari, the current US Amateur Champion, has today announced that he is turning professional after a distinguished amateur career that finished with his participation in The Open Championship.
Edoardo became the first European to win the US Amateur Championship for 95 years. This followed his victories in the 2001 Italian Amateur Championship and the 2003 Turkish Amateur Championship. Whilst completing his Engineering Degree at the University ‘di Torino’ he has had the privilege and experience of playing with Tiger Woods at The Masters and US Open as well as competing in several European and PGA Tour events.
Edoardo will make his debut as a professional this week at the Deutsche Bank Players Championship in Hamburg, Germany courtesy of a sponsors invitation. Having taken Affiliate Membership of the European Tour he will be attempting to obtain his full European Tour playing status.
Edoardo has signed a long term exclusive representation agreement with 4SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT AG, the leading Swiss sports management agency.
