Annual Golf Outing Exceeds Goal Of $50,000; All Proceeds Donated To The Phoenix Children’s Hospital
Phoenix, AZ – July 27, 2006â?¦JW Marriott Wildfire Golf Club, one of the premier golf resort destinations in Arizona, today announced that $59,295 was raised at the annual Children’s Miracle Network Charity Golf Tournament held on July 10, 2006. All of the proceeds from this year’s tournament were donated to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
The 2006 event marked the 5th consecutive year that Wildfire Golf Club hosted the tournament. With 256 golfers participating in this year’s event, a record number of supporters turned out to play on Wildfire’s two Championship golf courses, the Palmer Course and the Faldo Course. Additional activities included raffles and a silent auction, featuring items donated by local vendors.
The winning foursome from each course received hand painted drawings created by children at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Each drawing was framed and matted, and included the children’s signatures. Among the winners from the Palmer Course were Nick Thiele, Colby Thiele and Justin Hornbeck; while the winning foursome from the Faldo Course included Vong Souriphong, Tim Jaap, Ryan Banks, and Vanessa Cohorn-Braun.
"We are thrilled to announce that this year’s Children’s Miracle Network Charity Golf Tournament was an overwhelming success," said John Wright, Director of Golf, Wildfire Golf Club. "It is wonderful to see the local community come together and raise money for such a worthy cause."
