New Feature Allows Brands to Tap into Growing Golf Social Network

ATLANTA, GA, July 26, 2006: GolfBuzz.com, the world’s first social networking Web site specifically for golfers, announced today the launch of GolfBuzz neighborhoods. The newest feature on GolfBuzz.com is a joint content venture for brands looking to reach the golfing community with leading golf equipment manufacturer TaylorMade as the charter neighborhood. These micro sites provide golf and non-golf-related brands the opportunity to connect with golfers in a meaningful context.

Through its neighborhood, TaylorMade (http://www.golfbuzz.com/n/tm) offers GolfBuzz.com’s 16,000 + members unique content from one of the sport’s most prestigious brands. The brand itself benefits as the neighborhood serves as a traffic driver, with GolfBuzz.com users directly linking onto the TaylorMade Golf website, as well as being able to sign up for special promotions through the site.

"We’re very excited to be launching our neighborhood feature, which will both benefit our users as well as brands looking to reach the golfing community," said Alan Parker, Director of Business Development for GolfBuzz.com. "From TaylorMade, one of the golf world’s most prestigious brands, to magazines to travel & leisure brands, these neighborhoods provide a unique forum to connect with a captive golf demographic in a relevant and contextual fashion."

The neighborhood launched during the 2006 US Open featuring behind the scenes news from Winged Foot Country Club in New York. Neighborhood subscribers were able to gain valuable insights from TaylorMade’s sponsored golfers as the blog took them "inside the bag" to learn about the clubs that some of the top professionals took with them on the course. The site also linked through to a special TaylorMade Father’s Day E-Card, giving TaylorMade opt in email access to GolfBuzz.com’s membership

"There is no question that social marketing is the next frontier, and GolfBuzz offers a great way for companies like ours to explore these new areas," said Jason Woodmansee, Manager, Global eMarketing, TaylorMade-adidas Golf. "GolfBuzz has great technology and a strong plan."

GolfBuzz.com is currently in the process of adding over 20 leading brands to the community. Categories include, lifestyle brands, golf manufacturers, health & fitness, women’s interests, travel, regional golf media, lessons and more.

"GolfBuzz represents a new platform for brands to reach consumers online, inviting golfers to intimately connect with their brand, and generate word of mouth buzz," added Parker.
