ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL – Utilizing the Internet becomes a bigger and more important portion of most companies’ marketing plans as each year passes. What are some of the new opportunities for media and companies in the golf and travel industries?
That will be a topic for Workshop No. 1 at the 5th ING Fall Media Forum. The annual gathering of media and business people from the golf industry is set for Sept. 10-13 at New York-New York Hotel Casino and the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
The event is being held in conjunction with the PGA Fall Expo Sept. 13-14 at Mandalay Bay Conference Center, which also will host the ING meetings and breakfasts.
Anyone in the golf and media industries is invited to attend. Media members who register for the ING Fall MEdia Forum will be automatically registered for the PGA Fall Expo. To guarantee a hotel room at New York-New York at the ING rate, attendees must register with ING by Aug. 1.
About The Conference
The Internet Workshop is set for Monday morning at 10 a.m., following the "Discover The Media" breakfast at 8:30. The other workshop features apparel coverage and regional publications.
Publishers and editors will learn how enhanced coverage of apparel can bring additional advertising revenue and promotional programs with local golf courses and retail shops. Local pro shops depend so heavily on soft good sales, and regional publications usually have solid relationships with the local courses. Combine those two facts, and revenue opportunities are born. This workshop will teach regional publishers how to improve their coverage of apparel, then how to take advantage of the opportunities that result.
New this year is the "Discover Regional Magazines" Breakfast. Media of all types will display materials and copies of their magazine or show, so business executives can learn more about the specific outlets. These display tables are free of charge to the media outlets, but are limited in number. They will remain on display throughout the PGA Fall Expo in the ING Hospitality Room.
Returning this year is the popular Solutions Breakfast. Attendees will choose among several subjects to discuss over breakfast, with leaders of each topic facilitating discussions at each table. This will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
There will also be two golf events – the Triple Play Mixer at Vegas Paiute Golf Resort’s outstanding Wolf Course, where three formats will be utilized during the competition, and the PGA Fall Expo golf outing at highly ranked Bali Hai. That event will feature an ING competition within the PGA Fall Expo. Companies can sponsor their own 4-player teams. A team draft will be held the night before.
There will also be product displays and presentations during the three-day meeting.
Registration deadline is August 1 for the hotel rooms. To register or for more information, call 407-328-0500 or visit http://www.inggolf.com/.
About The Hotel
The majesty of the Statue of Liberty, the excitement of Times Square, the ethnic flavor of Chinatown and Little Italy and the nostalgia of Coney Island. The Big Apple is known throughout the world and its landmarks are cherished by millions.
As guests stroll down the famous Las Vegas Strip and across the 300-foot long replica of the Brooklyn Bridge, they may forget that they are nowhere near Wall Street. New York-New York has brought the magic of the original "city that never sleeps" to the Nevada desert, home to the other city that never sleeps, through its re-creation of traditional New York landmarks. The $485 million property is located at the busiest intersection in the world, Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue.
The property’s innovative facade re-creates the classic Manhattan skyline, complete with 12 New York-style skyscrapers that showcase 2,023 newly remodeled guest rooms. These interconnected structures are approximately one-third the actual size of the New York City architecture. The tallest building replicates the Empire State Building at 47 stories. Other icons include a 150-foot replica of the Statue of Liberty, a Coney Island-style roller coaster called Manhattan Express and a replica of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.
Carefully crafted design elements throughout the resort reflect the history, color and diversity of Manhattan’s Park Avenue, Central Park, Broadway, Times Square, Financial District and Greenwich Village. The property re-creates everything that is wonderful about the Big Apple. From the art deco stylings of the front desk to the variety of food and entertainment options throughout the property, the sights and sounds of this incredible resort delight guests as they experience the energy and excitement of one of the most unforgettable places in the world.
