POWAY, Calif. – When the results of the 2006 Darrell Sun Belt Consumer Survey came in one thing was very clear — Aldila is still the number one shaft of choice when consumers purchase new golf clubs. The Sun Belt Survey was conducted at 24 golf courses in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas and Florida, with in-person, face-to-face interviews of 1,200 golfers at play. The Sun Belt is one part of the study Darrell Survey conducts throughout the year conducting face-to-face interviews with more than 4,000 golfers at over 75 public and private courses across the United States. This geographically distributed sample provides a statistical "snapshot" of usage in all regions of the country.
According to the Sun Belt results, Aldila is the first choice of golfers looking for the maximum performance from their new drivers, fairway woods and hybrid clubs. Consumers favored Aldila by almost three times the amount over the next shaft company for Drivers and Hybrids. They also preferred the Aldila shaft by more than twice the amount of the next leading shaft manufacturer for All Woods.
Aldila’s success on the Tour has created an unparalleled demand from the consumer when looking at shaft options in the market today," said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager.
Aldila’s latest shaft, the VS Protoâ?¢, has been the shaft of four PGA Tour winners so far this year including the U.S. Open.
The VS Protoâ?¢ features Next Generation Micro Laminate TechnologyTM combined with Aldila’s proprietary A65 Performance Resin System, using advanced high modulus graphite fibers, all synthesized into Micro Laminate TechnologyTM. The VS ProtoTM offers unparalleled performance, consistency and feel – the straightest, longest shaft that Aldila has ever offered.
"I had a chance to try the new Aldila VS Protoâ?¢ shaft for the first time at the International Network of Golf Spring Conference in Pinehurst, N.C., and the shaft feels as if it is somewhere between an Aldila NVS and NV shaft … or an NV shaft with a little more kick," said Bob Dodds, Executive Technical Director Professional Clubmaker’s Society. "Here at the Professional Clubmakers’ Society we are now profiling graphite shafts, which give us the actual stiffness of a shaft throughout its total length not just in the butt section. Those profiles tell clubmakers what they can actually expect from the performance of any new shaft before it is installed it in a head."
Aldila remains the leader and innovator and premier manufacturer of high performance graphite golf shafts. Whether PGA Tour Professional, Club Champion or avid weekend player, the choice remains the same … Aldila.
