The American Society of Golf Course Architects offers a brochure "The Golf Course Remodeling Process – Questions & Answers," available without charge to anyone interested in the renovation planning process.
As technology, the economy and player expectations continue to impact golf course design, many in the golf industry are exploring remodeling. The brochure addresses renovation issues in an easy-to-follow format that answers many of the basic questions that arise when undertaking such a project. These questions include topics from the most basic (Why remodel?) to how a project can be funded. Also included are a "Remodeling Checklist" and a list of resources for use during the remodeling process. The brochure is an excellent resource for use during the planning stages of a golf course redesign because it explains the process to a club or course’s green or planning committees.
In addition to the brochure, the ASGCA also offers its nationally recognized Remodeling University program, which provides superintendents, managers, owners and green committees with further information on golf course remodeling in an educational seminar format. For additional information on this program, or to schedule a symposium in your area, call ASGCA at (262) 786-5960.
