Recipients include Catholic Charities, CHOW and Salvation Army
(Endicott, NY) — Broome County Community Charities, Inc. today announced $100,000 contribution to Southern Tier Flood Relief.
Broome County Community Charities, Inc. Executive Director, Alex Alexander presented the check to Joseph Slavik, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Broome County.
"We realized the importance of expediting this contribution because the residents of the Southern Tier need this money today, as they are suffering now", stressed Alex Alexander as he added, "we are just glad that we were able to help".
"Its at times like these where people in our community step up, and once again Alex Alexander and Broome County Charities have come through to provide our community with much needed funds", added Joseph Slavik.
This contribution includes the proceeds from last Friday night’s "Help Is On Its Way" benefit concert Presented by the Oakdale Mall which featured The Little River Band. Additional funding of this contribution has come from B.C. Open Sponsors who in lieu of a refund have asked that all or a portion of their 2006 B.C. Open Sponsorship Package be redirected to Southern Tier Flood Relief.
