Aberdeen Asset Management premiered new sponsorship furniture at the Senior British Open over the weekend with the use of Golf Flagstick Advertising on the practice range and chipping green. These new Flagsticks allow additional branding to be featured ‘at the target of the game’ and hence increase Sponsor visibility in a normally barren corner of a tournament course.
Confirmed as conforming to the rules of golf by both the R&A and USGA, the Flagsticks carry a full colour branding poster in a fully patented tube positioned two feet above the surface of the green and extending up to the flag.
Sponsors and promoters are now seeing the benefits of having Golf Flagstick Advertising also on the 18 greens, traditionally areas difficult to achieve Sponsor or Tournament partner brand continuity.
The Flagsticks were on all 18 greens of the Gary Player Foundation Invitational held at Wentworth on Monday 24th July, with sponsors Coca Cola, Pringle, Davenport Lyons and Boschendal all enjoying the increased recognition facilitated by the new furniture.
Asked if he liked the Golf Flagsticks at his event, Gary Player said ‘Yes I did’.
Golf Flagstick Advertising offers Event organisers and Course operators an additional revenue stream through commissions on sponsors’ and advertisers’ usage of the Advertising Flagsticks at corporate days, charity events and Tour events. Golf Flagstick Advertising launched earlier this year in the USA where considerable interest has been generated. The European launch is now underway with initial events signed up.
