Srixon’s Laura Davies One Stroke Back and Ties for Second
ATLANTA – July 31, 2006 Srixon Staff Professional Karrie Webb continued her incredible year by capturing her third title of the season at the Evian Masters in Evian-les-Bains, France on Saturday, July 29. In a tightly fought final round where she overcame a two-shot deficit in the final 8 holes, a 20-foot birdie putt on the par-3 17th hole sealed the victory for Webb. She played with Srixon’s W-506 Driver, Srixon Z-URS golf ball, and Srixon forged irons to shoot 16-under par, 272 total (67-68-69-68) to claim one of the most prestigious titles of the year against one of the strongest fields of the year.
With this victory, Hall-of-Famer Webb regains the lead on the official 2006 ADT Money List with over $1.6 million earned this season. In her illustrious career, she has 33 wins and has accumulated nearly $12 million in career money good for 2nd place all time. Among Webb’s 8 Top 10s in 2006 are victories at the year’s first major championship, the Kraft Nabisco Championship as well as the Michelob Ultra Open. Webb leads the LPGA TOUR in rounds under par and is 3rd in scoring average (70.16).
Srixon Staff Professional Laura Davies tied for second shooting a 15-under par, 273 total (68-71-67-67) her best finish of the year. Davies, the 20 time tour winner and 4 time major champion used the Srixon W-506 driver, Srixon I-506 irons, and Z-UR prototype golf ball. The big hitting veteran regained her championship form in France, and vaulted 73 places on the ADT Money List to 24th overall.
