GREENSBORO, N.C. – – Strengthening its position as the Piedmont Triad’s PGA TOUR event, the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro has announced a partnership with chambers of commerce throughout the region in an effort to encourage local business owners to invest in the longstanding professional sports event.
The tournament, entering its 67th year, has joined with the chambers in Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem to offer substantial discounts to member businesses wishing to provide hospitality to their clients or employees at the event. The chambers’ charitable foundations will also benefit, receiving a portion of the proceeds from packages purchased through the new initiative.
These packages start at just $700 and are available to Chamber of Commerce members through Aug. 25, 2006. A substantial discount on single-day tickets also is available through this initiative.
"In recent years, we have worked closely with the three chambers in an effort to regionalize the golf tournament," tournament director Mark Brazil said. "These new partnerships will help us reach a broad cross section of the Piedmont Triad’s business sector; it’s a great way for us to promote the many valuable opportunities associated with the Piedmont Triad’s PGA TOUR event. More and more Piedmont Triad corporations are lining up to support our PGA TOUR event. The progress we’re making says a lot about the direction our golf tournament is headed."
Chamber members have four different options from which to choose. A top-tier "Sports Club Package" includes five tickets per tournament day for a hospitality tent adjacent to the 14th fairway at Forest Oaks Country Club; food and beverage is included. The "Silver Ticket Package" includes six clubhouse badges, 60 good-any-day tickets, two sponsor party invitations and one parking pass. The "Green Ticket Package" includes four clubhouse badges, 25 good-any-day tickets and one parking pass. Members also may purchase good-any-day tickets at a 25% discount. To take advantage of this offer, Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce members should contact their local chamber office or visit their chamber website.
The 2006 Chrysler Classic is set for Oct. 2-8 at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. The tournament thanks Daimler-Chrysler for 11 great years of partnership. Additional tournament information is available at www.chryslerclassic.org or through the tournament office at (336) 379-1570.
