New ecommerce component to golf course web sites provides these five green grass pro shops an online store.
ATLANTA, GA – G1 ProShop is pleased to announce that five golf courses have launched ecommerce online stores based on the G1 ProShop platform. The five courses are: The Standard Club in Atlanta, Georgia; Forsyth Country Club in Winston Salem, North Carolina; the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst, North Carolina; Mystic Dunes Golf and Resort in Celebration, Florida; and Celebration Golf Club in Celebration, Florida. These online stores went active to their members and customers in mid-July.
The G1 ProShop platform allows each of these golf courses an ecommerce component to their existing web site. This "online store" retains the look and design of their current web site. This allows these green grass pro shops the opportunity to have virtual inventory to more products, more categories and provide better service to their members and customers.
"These five golf courses realize that ecommerce is more and more acceptable as a retail outlet," said Andy Beskin, president. "Our platform allows them the opportunity to compete more effectively in the retail marketplace and offer better customer service to their members and customers."
The golf course online store gives the members and customers immediate access to the current pro shop inventory. The "custom store" component of the online store allows these pro shops to offer expanded inventory from their preferred vendors and equipment manufacturers. Now they are able to offer a full product line of clubs, apparel, and accessories from manufacturers they have a current business relationship with. The pro shops also receive the benefit of expanding their inventory with G1 vendors and the opportunity to expand their online inventory and make larger commissions. This gives the "green grass" operators more opportunities to compete with the internet and big box retailers.
"Our online store gives our members the ability to shop online and order merchandise from our pro shop at any time of day. Basically, we are providing exceptional customer service and expanded opportunities for our members," says Jeff Dotson, director of golf at the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst. "Also, the ‘custom store’ component allows me to remain loyal to my preferred vendors while offering our members more choices."
G1 ProShop is the manager and facilitator of the ecommerce online program. They work directly with vendors, manufacturers and golf course pro shops. The software, while extremely sophisticated, is very simple to manage. G1 ProShop software allows for the individual pro shop to load their current merchandise online through a simple process. In addition, golf equipment and apparel manufacturers have the same ability to upload their inventory on a general site available to all pro shops.
The software is very secure and allows for personalization of inventory from both the pro shop and manufacturer. Both pro shop personnel and manufacturers have a secure management portal to administer their inventory and web site. G1 ProShop facilitates the orders and pays out to the vendor, manufacturer and to the pro shop – just as if the pro shop made the sale. G1 ProShop offers software training and support services.
G1 ProShop is currently offering free set-up to the first 100 golf courses that sign up. Normally, G1 ProShop charges a $1,000 one-time fee to set-up a golf course pro shop’s online store plus 3 percent of online store sales only thereafter.
