PLANO, TEXAS, August 1, 2006 -Adams Golf (OTCBB:ADGO) proudly announces that its Idea hybrids claimed the #1 spot in the equipment count at the Senior British Open and the Nationwide Tour’s Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open, according to the Darrell Survey.
It was a dominant display of international muscle by Adams Golf at the Westin Turnberry Resort in Ayrshire, Scotland. With 132 hybrids in play at the Senior British Open, the Idea hybrid accounted for a staggering 66. That’s half the total number of hybrids, with 12 other manufacturers combining for the other half. Adams Golf also claimed the #1 spot in the fairway wood count by accounting for 24.9% of the total fairway woods in play.
Back in the U.S., seven of the Top 15 golfers at last week’s Nationwide Tour event played Idea hybrids. This was the third consecutive Nationwide Tour event that Adams Golf led the hybrid count.
"This last week was a perfect snapshot of what we’ve been able to accomplish at the pro tour level," said Max Puglielli, Adams Golf Director of Tour Operations. "A growing number of international players are putting Adams Golf hybrids in their bags and at the same time we’re continuing our #1 position on the Nationwide Tour, Champions Tour and closing the gap between ourselves and the #1 hybrid on the PGA TOUR. The momentum we’ve established across the board doesn’t look like it will slow down at any point in the near future."
