Denver, Co, Aug 2, 2006 . . . YES! Golf announced today that Britain’s most outstanding female golfer, Laura Davies, has signed a multi-year agreement with the company that pioneered C-groove putter technology. Davies finished tied for second last week at the Evian Masters using the YES! putter.
"Laura is an incredible all-around player," stated Francis Ricci, CEO YES! Golf. "She is known for her length off the tee but she has a solid short game too. Last year on the LPGA Tour she was ranked 2nd in eagles, 18th in sand saves and 27th in birdies and putts per greens in regulation. We are thrilled to have her using the putter and look forward to working with her both in the states and abroad."
Davies, 42, has enjoyed a storied career in women’s professional golf. She has recorded 46 International victories, 20 LPGA victories including 4 majors. She has played in nine Solheim Cups and has career earnings of over $9 million. Her runner-up finish last week to Karrie Webb moved her from 97th to 24th on the 2006 LPGA ADT Official Money List.
Davies currently uses the Marilyn putter. Marilyn is a face-balanced mallet made of 304 stainless steel featuring a double bend shaft and 3 squaring alignment lines.
As part of the agreement, Davies will be used in the company’s advertising and promotional material. Other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
