The Coast Open Championship is a 54-hole medal (stroke) play championship conducted over three days. The Championship flight will have 30 players (and ties) and all other flights will have approximately 15 players each. The Championship flight will award prizes to the top 15 places while all other flights award prizes to the top 5 places, based on a full field. As a bonus, there will be a Senior (age 50-59) and Super Senior (age 60 and over) Division which will award prizes to the top 5 places in each. All play will take place from the same set of tees so that senior competitors will be eligible to compete for all prizes. The golf association is beginning its centennial of golf celebration, so the winner of the championship will not only win the handsome trophy, but also a reproduction of an antique poster which was used to promote golf tourism on the Mississippi Gulf Coast early last century in celebration of 100 years as a golf destination.

Please see www.GolfCoast.com for a complete list of pairings, tee-times and results. For more information, please call tournament director, Billy Baumgartner, at (228) 806-4995.

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Golf Association, the only organization on the Gulf Coast 100% dedicated to promoting golf, is a Non-Profit golf marketing organization. Our mission is "to promote golf and golf package play at Member Courses and Associate Member Hotels on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, specifically Hancock, Harrison and Jackson Counties." The organization was established in 1982 to promote the game in tournaments at Member Courses around the coast. Contact Kevin Drum @ DrumGolf@earthlink.net for more info.
