Stephen Marino has always reached his share of greens in regulation, but his putting needed help. After being fitted with his new Pinfire Eagle from Pinfire Golf he was ready for some improved results. Last week at the Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open held in Wichita, Kansas at the Crestview Country Club Nationwide Tour event he delivered his best performance of the year.
He was deadly with his putter this week, with only 96 putts for the tournament or 24 putts per round average…a full six putts per round less than his previous average. In this his 8th completed tournament for the year, he was obviously pleased. It was his first top ten finish.
He placed first in the two main putting categories for the week; Putts per Round, and Putting Average. Ranked at 121st in the category Putts per Round, Marino jumped 79 places to 42nd place in the same category while placing 7th for the first time this year. He also jumped from 83rd place to 28th in Putting Average. All of this occurred since he made the switch to his Pinfire Eagle putter just a few weeks ago.
