Bedford, New Hampshire, August 7, 2006 â?¦ On the heels of introducing the K-VESTâ?¢ product suite, an instructional system that is revolutionizing the way PGA Professionals analyze the golf swing, Bentley Kinetics, Inc. today unveiled the new KINESYNC software v1.5. This enhanced software offers several new features, many of which are designed to accelerate a golf instructor’s transition from traditional video to a more precise way of analyzing and training the golf swing.
The K-VEST, which can be used indoors or outdoors, allows for year-round instruction and incorporates a video camera and 3 wireless sensors. The sensors communicate with a laptop computer to provide a live 3D animation of the golfer. The instructor simply records a swing, and within seconds, they can view the student’s video, 3D animation, or swing performance graphs to quickly and accurately identify swing faults. The software then provides real-time audio and visual feedback allowing the student to experience the exact movement needed for swing improvement.
One of the software’s most exciting new features is the live side-by-side video and 3D animation. This feature allows golf instructors to precisely measure common swing faults such as alignment, posture, and swing plane. If for example, a student is aimed left of the target on the driving range, the animation will display the exact amount of degrees that the hips and shoulders are open. Once the swing fault has been determined, in this case alignment, the instructor simply presses one button to activate the software’s "quick guides". The instructor can then use the sensors to align the student’s body perfectly by providing them with a virtual chalk line to the target.
This new feature provides the golfer with the "real" feel of a new movement. For example, when a player is in the "desired" alignment they will see their 3D animation on the screen turn green while music plays in the background. As soon as they move out of the desired settings, the animation will turn red and the music will stop, providing the golfer with immediate, real-time feedback. This feature virtually eliminates communication barriers between the instructor and the student.
"KINESYNC v1.5 was designed to make the transition from video to wireless 3D technology very simple and extremely effective for the end user," comments Michael Bentley, Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Bentley Kinetics, Inc. "In addition to the software enhancements, our online educational webinars have proven extremely successful in maximizing our customer’s use of these features."
The KINESYNC 1.5 Software is now integrated into Bentley Kinetics K-VESTâ?¢ Product Suite, which consists of the K-VEST, the K-SYSTEM, and K-WEB. These products provide golf professionals and their students with an affordable, state-of-the art instructional technology, enabling instructors to capture and analyze the golf swing in 3D, and then easily upload the student’s swing and performance data to K-WEB, Bentley’s online portal.
The K-VEST Product Suite, which has a base retail price of under $3,500, is a system that golf professionals can utilize directly at their home teaching facilities. Similar systems have previously been available only through select high-tech golf labs that cost upwards of $100,000.
