Watertown, SD August 8, 2006 – Kelly and Kendric Thompson of Web Dx2 Golf are excited to announce that to celebrate Kendric’s 7th Birthday (August 5th), they will be offering through the month of August a "Special Promotion". The LogicalOne will be available outside the typical Awareness Package. The "Special Promotion" will include your choice of head color (NOT including the Limited Edition), your choice of grip model, your choice of grip color and length (from 32 1/2" up to 35 1/2"). This is a continuous effort to help create awareness and support of ITP (idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura).
ITP is a blood disorder/autoimmune disease where, in simple terms, the antibodies kill the platelets and to this day, there is no cure. At the age of 3, Kendric was diagnosed with the disease when blood work revealed his platelet count was at 3,000. The normal human body count is between 150,000 to 400,000. At 3,000, it had become life threatening. The treatment Kendric receives for this disease, when his counts are low, is a two-day infusion process referred to as IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin).
"Seeing the strength and belief that my son has had with this disease has had a tremendous influence on my life", said Kendric’s father, Kelly. "I feel any parent that goes through almost losing a child has a much greater respect and appreciation for life and a better determination toward making a difference in other people’s lives, which is what the LogicalOne Awareness Package is all about".
A portion of each sale will go toward creating awareness of the disease as well as helping to support a great cause. The PDSA (Platelet Disorder Support Association) will be the primary beneficiary, which Web Dx2 Golf is a proud Member/Contributor of. The PDSA is a non-profit corporation, founded in August, 1998, to provide information, support, and encourage research about ITP and other platelet disorders.
