ATLANTA – August 7, 2006 Srixon Staff Professional Jim Furyk earned his third second place finish of the season at the Buick Open on Sunday, August 6, 2006 in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Furyk played with Srixon’s W-506 driver, Srixon I-506 irons, Srixon wedges, and the Srixon Z-UR prototype golf ball to shoot an impressive 21-under par, 267 total (66-68-69-64). His blistering bogey-free final round of 64-complete with 8 birdies-equaled the lowest final round score of the day.
Furyk, currently ranked 4th in the world, has had a remarkable season since switching to Srixon this year. He has accumulated 9 Top 10 finishes this year including a win at the Wachovia Championship, a tie for 2nd place finish at the U.S. Open Championship and a 4th place finish at the British Open Championship. Furyk further solidifies his hold on the number 2 ranking on the 2006 PGA TOUR money list with over $4.6 million for the season and has amassed over $28 million in career earnings and currently ranks 5th all time.
