LEAWOOD, KANSAS (August 16, 2006) – Accu-Length is continuing its emphasis on expansion, both with its one-of-a-kind expandable junior golf clubs and its rapidly-growing number of international and national distributors, by signing an agreement with DMT Sports to be the exclusive distributor of Accu-Length products in all regions of South Africa.
DMT Sports, headquartered in Durban, South Africa, specializes in selling niche products for the South African marketplace. The company imports high-quality, affordable golf equipment that South African consumers have not previously seen. Volvik Crystal golf balls is among the company’s current clients. DMT Sports also specializes in sourcing affordable range balls from Asia.
Thomas Raatgever, one of the principals of DMT Sports says that Accu-Length will definitely be a winner with consumers in his region.
"Accu-Length is sure to be a huge success in South Africa. I foresee it becoming one of the best selling junior golf products," says Raatgever, a PGA Professional who has coached junior golf for more than 11 years. "I have always been extremely passionate about junior golf and have never been so excited about a product before. Anyone that knows anything about golf will know the benefits of clubs that are made to be custom fit. This is something that I am now able to offer in South Africa with Accu-Length expandable junior clubs, which are able to grow with the child. I firmly believe that there is not a better product out there to help hone the skills of our future stars than Accu-Length."
Raatgever adds that Accu-Length sales will further benefit from the rapid growth of junior golf in South Africa as the game becomes more accessible to families of all income levels. Junior golf has been receiving government funding with the aim of getting previously-disadvantaged children involved in the game.
"I am confident that once the benefits of Accu-Length become known, it will create great waves within the industry," says Raatgever.
Rick Rutter, President, COO and Founder of OnTrack Sports, LLC, makers of Accu-Length, the only Expandable Junior Golf Clubs, is confident that DMT Sports will help his company’s products ride the crest of those waves.
"DMT Sports is a well-known distributor with great contacts among major retailers and leading on-course pro shops in the South African market. That’s a key reason we elected to enter into this partnership with them," says Rutter. "South Africa is an explosive growth area for golf, particularly with younger players, and we know those golfers will recognize that they can grow with Accu-Length.
The agreement with DMT Sports is just part of Accu-Length’s recent sales expansion. Within just the last few months, Accu-Length has signed several international distributor agreements, most recently for Scandanavia with Tee Off of Oslo, Norway. Other international distributor pacts include Jason Golf in Korea, Bag Boy in Japan, Sports Life Asia in China, and Red Rock Sport in Ireland.
In the U.S., Golfsmith and The Golf Warehouse lead the list of domestic distributors to sell golf clubs and associated Accu-Length products. Golf USA, Roger Dunn’s, Wally’s in Texas, and the new PGA Superstores have also joined forces with Accu-Length to sell the products, which features the one-of-a-kind spacer system that enables the clubs to grow with the child.
Accu-Length has rapidly moved to the forefront of the junior golf club market because of its one-of-a-kind spacer system, which enables the club to lengthen and grow as the child grows, thereby eliminating the need to constantly purchase new clubs year in and year out. Over a 5-year period, that equates to a savings of up to $600.
Savings are only one important reason why parents are finding that Accu-Length’s custom fit clubs are the right fit for their youngsters. Accu-Length’s expandable club technology creates consistency in their swings for juniors that has long been so important to adult golfers. This helps junior golfers develop a repeatable swing motion and muscle memory which produces more consistent swings, resulting in straighter shots, longer hits, lower scores and most importantly, a more enjoyable golf experience for kids.
Accu-Length’s Expandable Junior Golf Clubs were ranked second – out of 16 companies – on Golf Digest’s Hot List of Junior Golf Sets, in the magazine’s August 2006 edition. Accu-Length clubs were also named Best New Equipment Product at the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.
