Captain Collects Best Finish of Season
ATLANTA – August 14, 2006 Srixon Staff Professional Tom Lehman came in second place at The International on Sunday, August 13, 2006. Lehman, the U.S. Ryder Cup Captain, lost on the second playoff hole after capturing 34 points in the modified Stableford system at Castle Pines in Castle Rock, CO.
Lehman played with Srixon’s Z-UR prototype golf ball to earn his best finish and 4th Top 10 of the season. For the week, Lehman was first in driving accuracy and first in greens in regulation. Remarkably, Lehman has now moved into the top 20 on the points list for his own Ryder Cup team and could move into the top 10 with a strong showing at this week’s PGA Championship. The former British Open Champion has now amassed over $18.8 million in career earnings moving him up 4 spots to 14th on the career money list and jumped 18 spots to 35th on the Official World Ranking List.
Srixon has 2 wins among 28 Top 10s on the PGA TOUR this season, including two second place finishes in the first two majors this year: Tim Clark at The Masters, Jim Furyk at The U.S. Open and a 4th place finish for Jim Furyk at the Open Championship.
