CONCORD, N.C. – Rocky River Golf Club’s ninth annual Mayor’s Tournament takes place on Friday, Sept. 8.
The tourney is the biggest event on the Rocky River calendar and honors the City of Concord and its mayor – Scott Padgett – for the city’s commitment to providing an upscale municipal golf course for the community.
The format is four-person captain’s choice with an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start. Entry fee is $80 per person or $320 per team. The entry fee includes cart and green fees, food, beverages, goodie bags and prizes. Deadline for entry is Aug. 25 and the field is limited to the first 132 paid entries.
"This is our anniversary event and is greatly anticipated every year," said head golf professional Floyd Gragg. "We expect a full field this year as well."
Rocky River, which opened Sept. 13, 1997, is located off Speedway Boulevard, a half mile from Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
Entry forms are available at the golf course. For information, call (704) 455-1200.
