Impulse Secures Second-Place Earnings on Two Tours

PACOIMA, Calif. — The Impulse hybrid shaft by Harrison Sports surpassed the competition and won second place at the 2006 PGA Championship, the golf season’s final major often dubbed ‘Glory’s Last Shot.’ This year’s runner-up to one of the most coveted tour titles of the year played a Harrison Impulse shaft in his Sonartec hybrid club to shoot a 13-under par 275.

The Impulse Hybrid shaft delivered another No. 2 money position, as well as a third-place tie, this weekend at Boeing Greater Seattle Classic on the Champions Tour. The Impulse shaft performed exceptionally well for both players, but the third-place winner in particular had reason to rave about the Impulse. He set a new course record on Sunday, shooting a 61 which included two eagles, both set up by a shot with his Impulse Hybrid shaft.

"Our new Impulse met the challenge this weekend, delivering dependable performance shot after shot in one of golf’s most honored venues," says Mike Cheng, president of Harrison Sports. "Our shafts feature true innovation and have a long respected history of providing increased distance and greater accuracy. We’re seeing solid performance from Harrison players every week and we’re very excited that some of the world’s greatest players are switching to Harrison."

Unique in its design, the Harrison Impulse incorporates a patent-pending Inlay Titanium Matrix, a thin layer of titanium wrapped around the shaft’s tip section to reduce shaft torque and to increase stability and accuracy. Hybrid-design clubs must often withstand greater stress at impact, so enhanced stability is a critical design factor for a shaft to resist distortion upon impact. In addition, Impulse shafts possess a lower balance point and produce a higher launch angle to make it easier to get the ball up into the air. The Impulse’s special hybrid design and advanced titanium layer deliver reliable performance shot after shot.

Impulse graphite shafts are available as a Fairway Wood or Utility Iron. The 75-gram Fairway Wood shaft has a 44-inch length and 3.5 degrees of torque. The 42-inch-long Utility Iron shaft weighs 85 grams and has a torque of 2.5 degrees.

Designed and made from high-quality graphite, titanium and boron materials, Harrison shafts are repeatedly among the top five graphite shafts brands played on pro tours around the world. Technologically superior and are eye-catching in appearance, Harrison shafts have become a popular and growing choice among professionals, clubmakers and golf enthusiasts.
