Champion’s Tour standout and Balance-Certified Golf, Inc. staff player Tom Jenkins shot an extremely impressive course record of 61 requiring only 23 putts to finish T3 at the Boeing Greater Seattle Classic. He increased his winnings to $5,678,576.71 since he first installed Balance-Certified’s shaft weighting system in his putter in April 2002. During this period, he has proven to be one of the Champions Tour’s most consistent players racking up 4 Tour wins, 47 top tens, and 85 top twenty-fives. In addition, an LPGA player also utilized Balance-Certified’s technology to finish T7 at the Safeway Classic in Portland, Oregon over the weekend.
Tom Jenkins said, "I’ve been using a Balance-Certified equipped putter for the past three to four years and it has helped my putting considerably. I experiment with the different weights which helps me fine tune my touch for the greens. With Balance-Certified installed in my putter, I have found that the butt end of the putter always moves toward the target on the follow through. It has eliminated the most common putting error, the forward wrist breakdown."
Jeff Lindner, Balance-Certified Golf’s (BCG’s) President, added, "Tom is clearly one of the most consistent performers on the Champions Tour. We are extremely pleased that Tom always installs BCG’s technology even when he experiments with different model putters. He uses our weighting system to tune each putter individually to achieve optimum performance and feel."
BCG’s former NASA engineering team first pioneered their Pro-Balance shaft tuning system in 1999 and has made it available to Tour players for several years. The Pro-Balance line introduces strategically located weights that can be used to adjust a golf club’s vibration and response characteristics and can be installed in any brand of golf equipment. "We are the first and only company to take golf club dynamics to a scientific level making feel a definable and tunable parameter," said Lindner. In fact, BCG’s technologies were significant enough to earn them top honors at the 2005 PGA Merchandising show. They were awarded the International Network of Golf’s (ING’s) Industry Honors Awards in the Product Ingenuity – Emerging Company category. Balance-Certified joined industry giants like Nike Golf and Taylor Made who won in other categories.
In independent testing by such notables as www.equip2golf.com and PGA Tour Partners, BCG’s systems have been shown to deliver increased ball speed in drivers, increased control of iron play and a tangible benefit in "feel" and distance control of putters. Dubbed the "Best Invention for Serious Golfers" at the 2004 PGA show by noted golf writer James Achenbach of Golfweek, the product has shown a steady rise in consumer acceptance. The company’s dealer network has increased to over 700 retail accounts worldwide. Dealer inquiries are welcome.
