PLANO, TEXAS, August 29, 2006 -Adams Golf (OTCBB:ADGO) announces that its Idea Pro was the most played hybrid on the Champions and Nationwide Tours last week. It was also the #2 hybrid on the PGA TOUR, at both the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, and the Reno-Tahoe Open. Of the four events taking place last week on the PGA, Champions and Nationwide Tours, combined, there was a staggering 148 Idea Pro hybrids in play compared to only 77 by the next closest competitor.
"The extraordinary number of Idea Pro hybrids in play last week is a perfect example of why we introduced this golf club to the general public," said Chip Brewer, Adams Golf CEO. "The reason a majority of the players on all three men’s tours play this hybrid week after week is because it absolutely performs like they need it to. We’re confident that because of the successful results from the tour, along with the versatility, and the sleek shape and feel, that the Idea Pro hybrid will appeal to and perform for highly skilled players."
The Idea Pro accounted for 66% of the total hybrids in play at the JELD-WEN Tradition Championship in Aloha, Ore. This was the 23rd straight event on the Champions Tour that Adams Golf has had the #1 hybrid in play. Earlier in the season, Adams Golf set the single event hybrid count record on the Champions Tour with 74 hybrids in play at the Senior PGA Championship.
For the second consecutive week, the Idea Pro hybrid claimed the top spot in the hybrid count on the Nationwide Tour. The National Mining Association Pete Dye Classic marked the sixth tournament out of the last seven that Adams Golf has had the #1 hybrid in play. Just as it has done on the Champions Tour, Adams Golf holds the single event hybrid count record on the Nationwide Tour with 59 in play last week at the Northeast Pennsylvania Classic.
