45th Carolinas Senior Amateur Championship at Cape Fear Country Club Postponed Until October 24-26, 2006

September 5, 2006

West End, NC – The 45th Carolinas Senior Amateur Championship to be played at Cape Fear Country Club in Wilmington, NC has been postponed until October 24-26, 2006.

Cape Fear Country Club and the Carolinas Golf Association have mutually agreed to the date change to give the Donald Ross design, just coming out of a restoration and renovation project, the opportunity to provide the best course conditions possible for the championship. Extreme heat and almost two feet of rainfall in the Wilmington area in August hampered agronomic efforts.

Competitors who successfully qualified or are exempt into the championship proper and have withdrawn from the event can remove the withdrawal and compete in the championship. In addition, players that are unable to compete on the new dates should inform the CGA office as soon as possible at 910-673-1000. Updated player information will be sent to players.

For more information contact the Carolinas Golf Association at 910-673-1000 or www.carolinasgolf.org.
