Astra Expands Collections

Ft. Lauderdale, FL., August 22, 2006—Lord Daniel Sportswear today announced that ASTRA, the popular Samsung licensed brand of sportswear, recently named the most rapidly growing women’s golf brand in the US, is expanding to include two collections: ASTRASport, targeted to the fashion minded golfer and ASTRAClassic, aimed at the traditional golfer.

"The game of golf has been attracting new players who want to look more fashionable and defined, on and off the course. We felt it important to capture this group with a targeted collection in addition to the classic ASTRA look," says Kara Faust, Director of Sales.

"The beauty of the two collections is that they are designed to coordinate and compliment one another. The Classic customer will find items in Sport that spruce up her existing golf wardrobe and vice versa."

New ASTRASport is all about detail and multi-function. Designed for women with busy lives who often multitask by heading to work and then to the green, the line is elegantly trendy and still delivers the latest in tech fabrics and performance. Concealed deep pockets that zipper close to prevent golf balls from falling out, back pockets that hold scorecards and tiny pockets for golf tees are common to the collection.

Fall 2006 ASTRASport offers a refreshing mix of clean lines and lots of new branding details such as ASTRA logo snaps, charms and zipper pulls. The line presents new performance fabrics – including bamboo tech fabric, designed to absorb and whisk perspiration away from the skin in an instant. New details include mesh fabrics and netting. Chocolate, tan and essential basics like white, cream and black play an important role for Fall 2006. Lipstick, a spicy pink, Caribbean, a bold island green and a true-to-life Papaya are accent colors for fall.

Double mercerized 100% Egyptian cotton is used throughout the collection for its quality and resistance to shrinking. ASTRA’s design team has also succeeded with delivering a new best selling alternative to its famous 20 inch skort with a fitted 22 inch short offered in fashion colors and essential solids including white, cream, stone, tan, navy and chocolate. All ASTRA tops contain UV Protection for the wearer.

ASTRA’s classic skort has also been redesigned to be more casual and to better wick away perspiration with a new performance fabric under short.

"For women, multifunction is the name of today’s golf fashion game," says Brett Stern, Chief Executive Officer. "You have to offer the fashion with the performance element, and that’s essentially what we’re delivering with new ASTRASport."

ASTRASport currently sells at over 1,000 of the finest golf pro stores nationwide. Celebrity fans include LPGA great Jane Blalock, Melania Trump and Cheryl Ladd.

ASTRASport and ASTRAClassic retail from $56-$96 per item. To view the current
