#1 Brand on Tour Enjoys Another Championship as Successful Season Continues

Marlborough, MA-September 5, 2006-CHAMP Spikes, the number one brand on tour, picked up another win this weekend when the Deutsche Bank Champion sported CHAMP Spikes for his 5th straight PGA Tour victory. CHAMP Spikes, which recently swept the 2006 "Grand Slam," was also the spike of choice for the Deutsche Bank Champion in four of his last five victories. This time, the winner chose the traditional metal Cermec® spikes as he finished 16-under par, including an 8-under final round which solidified his five stroke victory. Overall, CHAMP Spikes were worn by four of the top ten finishers.

"It’s always satisfying to complete a weekend with another championship for CHAMP Spikes," said Harris MacNeill, president of CHAMP. "This weekend is another example of how we became the number one spike on tour-by providing golfers different spikes for different terrains. This past weekend, the Deutsche Bank champion used our traditional Cermec spike and about half the field at the BMW Open utilized our top-selling Stinger spike."

Additionally, on the European PGA Tour three players finished the final round tied atop the leaderboard at 15-under par and it took the eventual champion one playoff hole, sinking a four foot putt on the 18th green, to capture the title. CHAMP Spikes made their presence known at the BMW Open as 62 golfers in the field wore CHAMP Stingerâ?¢ spikes, with CHAMP’s patented "C" wear indicator which turns solid, showing the golfer when it’s time to change spikes.

With these victories, CHAMP now owns 23 of 35 PGA TOUR titles, 13 of 21 on the European Tour and 11 of 21 on the LPGA in 2006, including the PGA "Grand Slam" as CHAMP swept all four majors.
